Resident Engineer

Job Description
The Resident Engineer provides full-time contract administration and construction support on assigned public works projects. This position oversees the contract change process, tracks field issues and disputes, and ensures proper documentation and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The Resident Engineer works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve constructibility, funding, and administrative challenges.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer construction contracts and perform the full contract change process.
- Monitor and track field issues, changes, disputes, and related project impacts.
- Prepare and process progress payments, change orders, Records of Negotiation, as-builts, and other construction documents.
- Coordinate with internal staff and contractors to resolve constructibility and administrative matters.
- Facilitate and document project meetings and coordination discussions.
- Provide QA oversight as needed, including issue resolution and supporting documentation.
- Perform all other related duties as required to support project success.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Planning, or a related field.
- 3+ years of infrastructure experience in the public right of way.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering, State of California.
- Current HAZWOPER certification.
